Add the Google Form link, a title, a time limit, and any student accommodations. Done in under two minutes.
Share a monitored link
Proctorly generates a unique session link. Share it by LMS, email, or class page. Students open it in any browser. No extension to install on their end.
Students consent and set up
Camera, microphone, screen share, and optional ID verification happen before the quiz starts. Students see exactly what is being monitored.
Review your report
The Insight Engine groups sessions by what needs your attention: serious, moderate, or no concern. You see every signal, timestamp, and confidence score. You accept, dismiss, or skip. Nothing is automatic.
Six honest, narrow signals.
We do not claim to detect cheating. We collect observable browser events that teachers can actually review and interpret in context.
Tab switching
If a student clicks away from the quiz tab, we note when and for how long. Switching back and forth a lot shows up clearly in the report.
Face presence
Every 30 seconds, we check that a face is visible. Stepping away too long, no face at all, or more than one person in frame all get noted.
Audio events
If it stays noisy for a while, we log when it happened. We never record or transcribe audio - just that the noise occurred.
ID verification
Before starting, students hold up a photo ID to their camera. We save a picture for you to check yourself - no automatic ID scanning.
Screen share
On computers, students share their screen before starting. If they stop sharing partway through, you're alerted right away.
Fullscreen lock
The quiz stays in fullscreen. If a student exits it during the exam, we log exactly when so you can see it next to their answers.
What we don't do.
Most proctoring tools oversell what they can actually detect. We think that creates a false sense of security and unfair outcomes for students. So we draw explicit lines.
- We don't track eye movement or gaze direction.
Eye-tracking in a browser is scientifically unreliable and has led to false accusations of cheating at other institutions.
- We don't claim every flag is cheating.
A tab switch could be a screen reader, a pop-up, or a typo. The report shows the signal. You provide the judgment.
- We don't force a new testing platform on teachers.
Your Google Form stays yours. We wrap it, not replace it.
- We don't store continuous audio recordings.
We log audio event metadata (timestamp, duration above threshold). We do not record or store what students say.
Can students still cheat? Yes. A determined student can use a second device, look off-screen, or use a VM. Proctorly reduces the easiest, most common attempts and makes review faster. Not surveillance-proof. That is the honest promise.
Built for the teacher, not the institution.
Most proctoring vendors sell enterprise contracts to IT departments. Proctorly is self-serve, priced for a single teacher, and works with tools you already have.
Pricing is mostly capacity.
Every plan includes the same core monitoring signals. Pick based on monthly student submissions, seats, and report history.
